Acclaimed broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez Roxas has added another feature to her cap.

Korina, who currently anchors Bilyonaryo News Channel’s Agenda primetime news, has been named “Asia’s Foremost Influencer in Journalism and Broadcasting” by Asia’s Influential Leader Awards. The awarding ceremony was held on February 28 at a local hotel.

In accepting the award, Korina called the recognition both an honor and fuel to keep pushing forward.

Beyond celebrating, she also made a pitch to fellow “pre-online” journalists to deliver real and fact-based news amid the proliferation of false information.

“In the age of technology the landscape of broadcast has so changed that it is almost unrecognizable. The reality of endless platforms for what is being called free speech has borne disinformation, fake news, half truths and has legitimized bias and opinion passed on as fact,” she wrote on Instagram.

“It weighs on us vetetans of pre-online to try carry the torch of real news, as close to fact and truth as we can get. Thank you for the honor. Fuel to do more and better.💚,” she said.
