MANILA — TV Patrol anchor and veteran ABS-CBN News correspondent Alvin Elchico was recognized as the Prominent Filipino News Anchor at the Asia’s Influential Leaders Awards on Friday at Okada Manila.

Elchico was among more than 70 individuals recognized for their excellence in various fields, with criteria focusing on leadership and public service.

Elchico shared that the award is especially meaningful as it marks his first recognition as a main anchor for TV Patrol, even though he has been in the role for less than a year.

More than just an accolade, he sees it as an inspiration for himself and a motivation for other journalists to continue striving for excellence.

"This will serve as an inspiration for all of us journalists, not just for me, but sa lahat ng journalists hindi lang ng ABS-CBN pero lahat ng industriya to strive harder," he said.

"Dapat gandahan mo ang trabaho mo para makakuha ka ng mga ganitong klaseng award. So magserserve siya ng inspiration sakin to do better. The work doesn't stop there. At the same time mag iinspire ka ng ibang journalist," he added.

The Asia’s Influential Leaders Awards is an annual event that celebrates individuals and organizations making a significant impact on their communities and excelling in their respective fields.
