Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco has been honored with an award for her innovative efforts in spurring tourism growth in the country.

Frasco has been hailed as “Asia’s Influential Visionary in Philippine Tourism” during the recent Asia’s Influential Leader Awards. The award recognized Frasco’s exemplary leadership and eco-smart strategies to put the Philippines on every traveler’s bucket list.

“Coming straight from Isabela for our ecotourism infrastructure groundbreaking in Santiago City, I was happy to have made it in time to receive the Asia’s Influential Leaders Award,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I am deeply grateful for the recognition of our work at the Department of Tourism and the work of all the hardworking men and women of the tourism sector where we continue to strive for excellence and innovation,” she said.

The former mayor of Liloan, Cebu know firsthand ho tourism can change lives and revitalize love of country.

“I have seen the enormous power of tourism — to unite, to transform lives, and to engender pride of place and love of country,” she said.

“And so, as Tourism Secretary, under the guidance of our President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. we have sought to ensure that tourism touches the lives of as many Filipinos as possible, across the farthest reaches of our country,” she said.

Meantime, she dedicated the award to all tourism frontliners “who continue to champion Philippine tourism for rest of the world to Love the Philippines.”

“Kinasingkasing nakong pasalamat sa atong mga tourism frontliners sa inyong paningkamot alang sa atong gimahal nga nasod nga Pilipinas! Daghang salamat!❤️🫶🏼🇵🇭” she said.
